As the government’s delivery agent for capital investment programmes into schools, Partnerships for Schools is committed to helping ensure that taxpayers get the best value from every education pound spent. Sharing our knowledge and experience of managing these programmes is something for which, I am pleased to say, we have earned a good reputation – not least through our informative and stimulating calendar of events.
 
These are interesting times for all of us involved in schools capital, whether you are a headteacher, a parent or governor, from the private sector or a local authority. With the new Academies legislation, schemes such as Free Schools gaining momentum all the time, and continued capital to address the shortage of primary school places, there is a great deal of ongoing activity to improve facilities for young people and communities across the country.
 
Ministers are committed that capital spending on schools will continue, and as such instigated the Schools Capital Review – led by Sebastian James, Group Operations Director of DSG international plc. We are delighted to be working with the review team alongside the Department for Education to make certain that schools capital investment prioritises those schools that need it the most and that those investments represent excellent value for money to the public purse.
